The Detroit Temple is the largest Masonic Temple in the world.  In 1920, the architectural firm George Mason and Company had completed an integrated design of a multi-function complex. Ground was broken on Thanksgiving Day, 1920. The cornerstone was laid on September 18, 1922. The formal dedication of the building was on Thanksgiving Day, 1926.

George Mason's design included 1037 rooms in total, including three theaters, a Shrine building, the Chapel, eight lodge rooms, a 17,500 square foot drill hall, two ballrooms, office space, a cafeteria, dining rooms, a barber shop, 16 bowling lanes, and a powerhouse to generate electricity for the complex.

Tickets include round trip bus fair and a luncheon at the temple.

  • 9:30 a.m.: Bus leaves the American Legon hall at 3615 Hayes Ave. (route 4) in Sandusky.
  • 10:30 a.m. Bus leaves Zenobia temple in Toledo.

All Master Masons, spouses and friends are welcome. This outing is limited to 50 tickets and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
